Care By Professionals You Can Trust

Medical-Steroid-Injections

INTERVENTIONAL INJECTION THERAPIES

In order to assist with either determining the source of your pain or trying to directly treat an anatomical area that has been determined to be painful, Dr. Samlaska can use image-guided injection therapies to deliver medications to the painful area. When we perform our injection procedure, many of our patients choose to use a gentle intravenous sedation to help them relax for the procedure.  With the use of this intravenous sedation coupled with a generous amount of local anesthetic (“novocaine”), we are able to perform our pain injection procedures without any anxiety or pain to our patients. In most cases, your injection procedure can be done safely in our office setting without the need for an inconvenient visit to a hospital or Ambulatory Surgery Center.

SPECIALIST REFERRAL

In most cases, CPO will be able to determine the primary source of your pain and provide non-surgical options for treatment. However, there may be times when a referral is needed to address issues for which CPO cannot provide the optimal treatment.  We routinely refer to neurosurgeons, spine surgeons, general surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, psychiatrists, endocrinologists and rheumatologists to assist in the care of our patients.  CPO will offer this option of care with one of our surgeons on staff.

PHYSICAL REHABILITATION

CPO will routinely refer to our colleagues in physical rehabilitation as part of a multidisciplinary approach to addressing your pain and functional limitations. Dr. Samlaska supports all types of therapy for his patients including chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage therapy,  acupuncture and home exercise programs.  He will make recommendations for rehabilitation based upon your individual needs.

DIAGNOSTIC TESTING

Often times, routine x-rays are not sufficient to obtain a proper pain diagnosis. With many patients, advanced imaging studies such as flexion and extension x-rays, MRI, CT scanning, or ultrasound imaging may be needed to help us determine the source of your pain.  We work with most of the imaging centers in Tallahassee and will find the best imaging center that meets our medical needs and your lifestyle.
